Operatives of Zone 16 Police headquarters in Yenagoa,Bayelsa state says the zone recovered firearm,ammunitions from fleeing suspects.
Spokesperson for the zone 16 Police headquarters,Superintendent of Police,SP Gunn Emonena in a statement said
“on the 3rd of September, 2024, at about 09:00hrs Police Operatives of Zonal Tactical Response Team (ZTRT) Zone 16 Headquarters led by Inspr. Paul Ojeizuanbi and team, acted on a credible information recovered a Berretta Pistol with 6(six) Round of .9mm Caliber Ammunitions at Okaki Junction, Yenagoa Bayalsa State from group of arm robbers that terrorizes passerby within the environ.
“The exhibits are suspected to have been abandoned by the robbers on the hot trail of the police operatives”.
SP Emonena also disclosed that on the 2nd September, 2024, group of teenagers numbering ten (10)

residing at No: 4 Peterson Avenue in Ogbogoro, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, who allegedly indulge in diabolic ritual, fraudulent and Illicit drugs activities were intercepted and arrested by detectives of Zonal Intelligent and Community Policing Compliance Team (ZICPCT) led by SP. Njar Samson, of Zone 16 Headquarters Yenagoa.
The Police Image Maker explained that their arrest followed the conduct of a covert operation by the operatives of the zone upon the receipt of an intelligent information, wherein hard drugs and charms were recovered.
“The suspects upon interrogation confessed to have involved in series of fraudulent activities as evidence speaks volume.
“The suspect will be arraigned and prosecuted once Investigation are concluded” SP Emonena said.
Meanwhile Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 16 Headquarters, AIG Paul Alifa Omata has reiterated his officer’s dedication in protecting the lives and properties of residents within Bayelsa and Rivers states.
The Zone 16 AIG stated that Nigeria Police Force under the present leadership has been committed to executing its statutory mandate as enshrined in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, and to this end, the Inspector General of Police IGP kayode Egbetokun PHD, NPM has reasserted his dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
