Nigeria-Following approval by the Police Service Commission(PSC) for the promotion of Senior Police Officers on recommendation by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM,the Assistant Inspector General(AIG) of Police, Zone 16 Command headquarters,Yenagoa AIG Adebola.A Hamzat, psc, fdc, Ph.D on Friday 10 January,2025, decorated Eleven (11) Senior Officers of the Zone with their new ranks.
The Public Relations Officer of the zone 16, Gunn Emonena who is also a Superintendent of Police,SP in a statement disclosed that the AIG charged the promotees to put their service above personal gains and work professionally, noting that their promotion is in line with the IGP’s agenda towards boosting the morale of Police Personnel for effective service delivery.
While congratulating the Officers, the AIG urged them to reciprocate the gesture of the IGP by re-doubling their efforts and work harder toward crime fighting.
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted Officers, CSP Sunday Jeremiah thanked the IGP and Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the promotion and promised to be more diligent in their duties as a way of reciprocating the gesture of the commission and Police High command. He also thanked the AIG for the privilege of serving under his leadership at the Zone.
SP Emonena stated that six Chief Superintendents of Police(CSPs), One Superintendent of Police(SP), three Deputy Superintendents of Police(DSPs), and an Assistant Superintendents of Police(ASPs) were decorated.
