The Director General of Natiomal Youth Service Corps, NYSC Brigadier General YD Ahmed has told Corps Members that there is no immunity for members of the Corps found liable for criminal offences as they would be subjected to the laws of the land like every other person.
He warned that any of them who violated the NYSC bye-laws or the nation’s constitution would be sanctioned accordingly.
The NYSC DG gave the warning while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Corps Members at Zamfara and Sokoto State Orientation Camps, respectively.
He said the Scheme was not a safe haven for lawbreakers, adding that all Corps Members were expected to be law-abiding at all times.
“Beware of people with questionable characters and don’t indulge in any action that can lead you into trouble. If you commit any criminal offence, we will hand you over to the law enforcement agents” he said.
Ahmed urged the Corps Members to “respect other people’s opinions, be diligent at work, and ensure (that) you create lasting friendships among your colleagues in camp”.
