The Nigerian Army says its attention has been drawn to a CCTV footage on social media and other online platform purported to be video of soldiers invading the house of Rivers state Commissioner for Education, Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja
In a statement released by Colonel Sagir Musa acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations Today March 8,2019 explained that the Army has began comprehensive forensic investigation of the video to ascertain its authenticity
The statement read that the Nigerian Army reiterates its stand to be neutral, apolitical and nonpartisan as its carries out it duties
The statement further read that any soldier found to have violated the rules of engagement will be dealt with according to the law
Colonel Sagir Musa advised members of the public with genuine complaints against their personnel to always report to the organization through appropriate channels
It will be recalled that Rivers state Government, Nyesom Wike had in a state broadcast Today morning March 8,2019 accused the men of Nigerian Army of arresting the Rivers state Commissioner of Education and alongside members of his family since Wednesday March 6,2019 and have detained him since then
