Comrade Christian Amanya

We, the NIGER DELTA YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR PEACE, (NDYAP) calls on the INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION(INEC) and the state RESIDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER(REC) Rivers state, Mr. Oboh Effanga, to as a matter of urgency declare Engr. Awara Biokpomabo of the AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC), the winner of Rivers state governorship election in the state.

This call became necessary owing to the fact that, the results collated in about 20 local government areas of the state, clearly shows that the candidate of the AAC, Engr. Awara was leading his closest rival, Gov. Wike of the PDP with a very wide margin, before the abrupt suspension of the ongoing process.
This is a misnomer, and contravenes section 26 of the electoral act of the commission.

It is indeed very worrisome that the REC and the commission have shown crass ineptitude in conducting and conclusively declaring winners of the various elections held in the state.

Such heinous act exemplifies electoral malfeasance and a rape on our nascent democracy.

Obnoxious histories as this, must not be replicated or be allowed to thrive in order not to set a dangerous precedence that will unavoidably hunt our future.

The time for the commission to absorb herself of complicity and rewrite their wrongs is now.

It must heed to the voice of reason, as a litmus test for their acclaimed neutrality amid avalanche of accusations of bias, and compromise levelled against it.
By so doing, they may regain their lost confidence from Rivers people and avert impending doom.

Signed
Comr. Christian Amanya
