An environmental right activist Celestine Akpobari who is also the technical assistant to the acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) ,Professor Nelson Braimbraifa has revealed that Niger Delta region have been oppressed, cheated and raped just because of oil in the region.
He made the assertion while delivering a speech during the Nigeria Resource Justice Conference organized by Social Action in PortHarcourt yesterday May 2,2019.
He said “the day we no longer have oil nobody We look at us”
According to the environmental activist, “if Niger Delta region was a woman Nigeria would have raped her till she dies “
He said “for over sixty years of oil in the region nothing to show for,the people have remained in abject poverty “
