The National Agency For Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) says it has arrested two staff of Federal ministry of youth and sports for sexually defiling a 13 years old girl
In a statement released on May 2,2019 by Nneka Aniagoh, of press unit of the agency explained that following credible intelligence the suspects Salisu Sabiu 55 years of age and Ibrahim Mansur Yola 51 years of age who are the victim neighbours were arrested at Dutse a suburb of Abuja the federal capital territory of Nigeria
NAPTIP in the statement said the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court soon
In her reaction, the Director General of the agency Dame Julie Okah -Donli condemned the act and also urged the public to report suspected cases of Human trafficking to the agency
She also thanked well meaning Nigerians who reported the matter to the agency
