President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment of Mr.Mele Kolo Kyari as the new Group Managing Director(GMD) Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC)
The President also announced appointment of seven Chief Operating Officer
This was made known in a statement by Ndu Ughamadu, the Group General Manager Group Public Affairs Division of NNPC today June 20,2019
He stated that the appointment takes effect from July 8,2019
Mr Mele Kyari will replace Maikanti Baru as the NNPC GMD
Before his appointment Mr Kyari the Group General Manager Crude Oil marketing division of NNPC and National representative of Nigeria to Oil Producing Export Country (OPEC)
He is from Borno state and holds BSC in Geology .He has 32 years experience in the oul industry and has served in various capacity in NNPC.
He is the 19th GMD of NNPC
