The Rivers State Police command says it has killed a wanted Armed/kidnapper known as “Abacha”.
In a statement by Omoni Nnamdi, spokesperson of Rivers state Police command explained that men of “Operation Sting” in collaboration with Anti-Robbery unit of Rumuji Police station in Emohua local Government area of Rivers State, Nigeria working with a local vigilante invaded a kidnappers camp led by one Ekwueme Brown at Rumuakunde today August 7,2019.
Omoni Nnamdi revealed that the kidnappers on sighting the Police opened fire but the Police responded and in the process the wanted armed robber “Abacha” was killed while the leader and other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries.
The Police image maker stated that two AK47riffles,two pump actions, one locally made gun 23 rounds of live ammunition and large of Police and Army uniforms were recovered.
Nnamdi Omoni stated that “Abacha” and his gang is believed to be responsible for series of kidnapping along the Emohua axis of East West road which has become a source of worry to many commuters .
The statement added that the Police is still combing the bush for other fleeing members of the group.
