The Rivers State Police command arrested over ten persons during the fire inferno at fruit garden market at D-line in PortHarcourt,Rivers State,Nigeria which occured yesterday night Revelation Agents Online News has learnt.
We gathered that the inferno which started by 7:45PM attracted both traders and sympathizers to the scene.
The traders who spoke to Revelation Agents Online said despite repeated calls to Rivers State Fire Service, the fire service still came 2 hours after the inferno started.
We gathered that youths who were on ground chased the fire service officials away when they eventually came.The Youths expressed displeasure on the attitude of the fire service officials for coming late.
We learnt that the Police arrested some persons on allegations of looting shops in the market while the fire was on.Our source revealed that the suspects numbering over ten were detained at Diobu Divisional Police Headquarters at Mile 1.
The Spokesperson of Rivers Police Command and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Omoni Nnamdi did not respond to text messages sent to him on the issue neither did He pick several calls placed across to Him by Revelation Agents Online News
