The Arewa Consultative Forum has called on its members to remain calm on the death of an Hausa man during an alleged scuffle with members of Rivers State Task Force on illegal Motor park and street trading today at Presidential Bus stop in Aba road.
The Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, South South and South East,Alhaji Musa Saidu made the appeal in an interview with Revelation Agents .
Alhaji Saidu explained that they are not against efforts of Rivers State Government to keep the state clean but they condemn actions of some of the task force members.
Alhaji Saidu called on the Police to investigate the matter and ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.
The Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum alleged the task force officials wanted to steal from Mr. Yusuf Dalandi 75 years old deceased Hausa man who deals on woman wears which led to his death.
He revealed that the deceased victim will be buried tomorrow in accordance to Moslem rites.
The Spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile line by our reporter.
Earlier, some members of Hausa community had barricaded a section of Aba road in protest to the death of the man.
The leadership of Rivers State Task Force is yet to comment on the matter.
