The Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele , has directed all Dean of Faculty and Head of Departments respectively to take attendance of lecturers who report to duty and submit to him to enable him forward it to the appropriate quarters.
The Vice Chancellor in a letter released by the registrar K.H Kue Ikoro(Mrs)which was dated 12th March,2020 revealed that the Rivers State Government frowns seriously at unjustifiable and irresponsible strike action and had said any unjustifiable strike action by any union of by any state owned union shall attract punitive measures.
Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele drew the attention of union leaders and their members to a letter written by the Visitor and Rivers State Governor,Nyesom Wike on August 20,2019 which cautioned the them from participating in strike actions called by their National leadership when all their salaries and entitlement have been paid.
The letter was copied to the Pro Chancellor,All Dens of Faculties, Heads of Departments, Chief Security Officer, Heads of Campus, Students’ Union Government, All Notice Board, Acting Bursar, University Librarian, Chairman ASUU
