The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State,Prof.Zacchaeus Adangor has revealed that the two pilots of Carveton helicopters Samuel Buhari and Samuel Urgoji who were arraigned in a chief magistrate court,PortHarcourt on Tuesday 7th April, 2020 for allegly disobeding the Rivers State Government order barring air passengers from entering the state are in Delta Hotels Old GRA, PortHarcourt and not in Correctional centre as insinuated.
In a press statement signed by the Attorney General which was released on Thursday,April 9,2020 ,the Chief law officer of the state explained that He applied to the court and got a variation on the remand order of the court that the accused be remanded in any Rivers State Government facility including Delta Hotels.
Prof Adango said the accused persons are being remanded in Delta Hotel based on the variation order He obtained, and they are receiving proper medical attention from the Covid-19 medial team.He noted that the state Government is concerned about the health of all individauls including that of prison inmates.
Prof Adango added that the accused persons did not spend a second in PortHarcourt correctional centre .
