A former House of Assembly candidate in Ahoada East Constituency 1 under United People Congress(UPC) in 2019 General elections in Rivers State,Nigeria,and also presently a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress(APC) Hon Ideozu Chiosom Jennifer has urged her constituents to adhere strictly to safety precautions as directed by Federal Ministry of Health and Nigeria Centre For Disease Control(NCDC) in order not to be a victim of Covid-19 the pandemic ravaging the world .
Hon Ideozu in an exclusive interview with Revelation Agents said she want people of her constituency who are still doubting to know that Covid-19 is real and the only way not to contract it is by observing all the safety precautions as stated by Ministry of Health.
The APC Chieftain urged members of her constituency to regularly and thoroughly clean their hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer or wash them with soap and water.
She noted that washing of hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based sanitizers kills viruses that may be on their hands.
The fmr House of Assembly Candidate also urge people to maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between themselves and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
“When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease”.
Hon Ideozu emphasized importance of self hygiene. She said “make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately”.
She urged people who are sick to go to hospital rather than resorting to self medication.
Hon Ideozu also enjoined her constituents to continue to pray to God in the face of the challenges.
