A resident of Udu in Warri,Delta State has accused Udu vigilante of extorting passersby without face mask.
A resident of the area Ogwara Uzesi in a post on his face book page on Thursday “Vigilantes are not law enforcement agencies. They have not right to arrest or collect bribe from commuters who do not wear face mask.
I call on the DPO Ovwian police station to stop the Udu vigilantes stationed at DSC police post who arrest and take bribe from motorist and commuters.They are civilians like us.They should go and look for criminals and arrest.As for as am concerned they are not recognized by law as security agencies.Pls DPO warn them because they use the guns you approved for them to carry to intimidate people”.
