Mother Of Widow Allegedly Raped By Police Inspector Calls For Justice As Widow Narrates Ordeal With Investigating Police Officer(s)

The mother of the 23 year old widow who was allegedly abducted and taken to a hotel in Nonwa , Tai Local Government,Rivers State where she was raped till morning has  demanded for justice. 
The mother of the victim ,Mrs Nakpugi Naatam while speaking to journalists and human rights advocate in her home town in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State expressed sadness and displeasure on the alleged abduction and rape of her daughter by a Police Officer. 
Mrs Naatam called on patriotic Nigerians ,Police authority in the country to ensure her daughther  gets justice..
In the meantime the widow has expressed doubt on getting justice due to the revelation purportedly made by a female Investigating Police Officer,(IPO). According to the widow, the female officer allegedly told her that the public will accept whatever report the Police investigating team will publish as the outcome of their investigation. 
The widow also revealed that the human rights desk of Police at Rivers State Police headquarters gave her medical form on 3rd August,five days after she reported the matter and she later observed it was back dated. 
She also stated she has not  submitted the result of the medical examination due to her ill health. 
Meanwhile a human rights advocate in Rivers State ,Prince Wiro has expressed worry that the Police Inspector accused of raping the widow and his team members were seen on Saturday at the same spot the lady was arrested on 28th July 2020. 
Mr. Wiro said it is shocking and sad that the officers the Rivers State Police Command claimed are in the detention at State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID) were seen at their duty post when the Police is yet to conclude investigation. 
The rights advocate said the development suggest that the Police Authority may have exonerated the accused officers even when investigation has not ended. 
Mr. Wiro revealed that himself and other rights group will leverage on options available to them to push for justice for the widow if the Police eventually releases an unacceptable report .
