The Assistant Commandant General of Zone ‘L’ Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Philip Ayuba FCIA has tasked the newly promoted officers of the corps to commit themselves to performance, diligence to duty.
The Assistant Commandant General,ACG in charge of zone ‘L’ comprising of Rivers, Cross Rivers and Akwa/Ibom state, Philip Ayuba,FCIA at a ceremony organized by the corps to decorate newly promoted officers in Port Harcourt, headquarters of zone ‘L’ on Friday also urged the newly promoted officers to uphold integrity in discharge of their duty.
The Assistant Commandant General said the promotion was a reward to hard work and it was strictly on merit.
On his part, Muktar Lawal the Commandant of NSCDC in Rivers State disclosed that the promotion was based on performance evaluation and recommendation.
Mr Muktar explained that the dogged commitment of the Commandant General of NSCDC to the welfare of all officers and men of the corps has spur the NSCDC to greater height in discharge of their duty and core mandate.
The Rivers State Commandant of NSCDC urged the promoted officers to see the promotion as a reason to double their effort towards upholding the mandate of the corps in protection of critical national asset and infrastructure in the state, supervision,regulation and training of private guard companies and their personnel as well as crisis and disaster management.
The Rivers State Commandant of NSCDC said those expecting promotion should brace up in discharge of their duty as expected.
The highlight of the event was decoration of newly promoted officers.
Our correspondent reports that six Chief Superintendent of Corps(CSC) were promoted to Assistant Commandant of Corps(ACC),two Superintendent of Corps(SC) to Chief Superintendent of Corps(CSC),seven Deputy Superintendent of Corps(DSC) to Superintendent of Corps(SC),five Assistant Superintendent of Corps 1(ASC1) to Deputy Superintendent Corps(DSC),five Assistant Superintendent of Corps 11(ASC11) to Assistant Superintendent of Corp 1(ASC1) and 13 Inspector of Corps(IC) to Assistant Superintendent of Corps(ASC11) .
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State command of NSCDC ,Michael Oguntuase who was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Corps(CSC) to Assistant Commandant of Corps(ACC) who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted officers said the promotion comes with additional responsibility and they are prepared to brace up for the task ahead with a view to putting in their best in realizing core mandates of the corps.
Peter Kio Karibi(Mrs) who was promoted from CSC to ACC, in her vote of thanks, thanked the Commandant General of NSCDC, the ACG zone ‘L’ and the State Commandant for finding them worthy for the promotion.
Peter Kio equally thanked all the people who graced the occasion.
