The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC),Rivers State command has disclosed that the command will deploy three thousand five hundred personnel to all recreational and worship centres,identified flash points in the state during the Christmas and new year celebration.
The Commandant of NSCDC in Rivers State, Muktar Lawal made the disclosure while briefing Journalists at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt last week .
The NSCDC Commandant in the state also revealed that the corps has put measures in place to ensure cases relating to fraud are tackled adequately .
Mr Lawal stated that the corps has successfully resolved thirty three cases of fraud in the year 2020.
The state Commandant of NSCDC noted that the corps has performed credibly well in fulfilling its core mandate as far as crises/disaster management is concerned in the state as the corps is always the first to be at most disaster scenes in the state to mitigate, rehabilitate and prosecute crises situations.
Mr Lawal also disclosed that the corps in the state has constantly engaged in trainings and re-trainings of private security guards as well as adequate monitoring to ensure no quacks thrives in the state.
Mr Lawal appreciated the Commandant General of NSCDC, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, the Rivers State Government as well as the media for the support given to NSCDC in the state.
