Truly, no society grows with the citizenry being negative about the progress of her people. Our people should see light at the end of the tunnel over obvious challenges that tend to dim the politics, economy, unity and development of the Ekpeye Ethnic Nation.
Considering all that has bedeviled us as a people, Ekpeyeans must be grateful to God for His goodness in 2020, as well as pray that the current year will be far better than the previous year.
While in 2020, the people of Ekpeye enjoyed relative peace and security, the Regent to the stool of Eze Ekpeye Logbo, HRM Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo who doubles as the Nye Udu Upata III of Upata Kingdom want to assure all that the Ekpeye traditional institution shall not relent in the onerous task of maintaining the peace.
Our people need to offer support to the traditional council in its effort at stemming crime and its related activities. Efforts are on and in collaboration with security agencies to stamp out criminal elements in our communities.
It is, however, important to resolve as we celebrate the New Year to place the higher interests of our people and unity, peace, stability and progress above all other things and work harder to move Ekpeye forward especially to the attainment of our collective aspirations.
But in pursuit of our collective goals, it is necessary to assure Ekpeyeans that the traditional council will refuse to be discouraged by those who have taken it upon themselves to run against every initiative and effort to institute effective governace.
To this end, the Regent, on behalf of his family and the traditional council, wish the good people of Ekpeye and Nigerians at large a prosperous New Year.
