Tragedy struck in Ibaa community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thurdsay 26,August 2021 following the killing of Amobi Oguzo,a member of disbanded OSPAC,local vigilante in the community twenty four hours after gunmen killed his son Prince Oguzo.
We learnt that natives are fleeing the community following the killing .
The General Commander of disbanded OSPAC in the community Emohua LGA Emeka Wori expressed disappointed at the killing.
Mr Wori in a telephone interview with our correspondent said “I do not know if is the politicians or community that is sponsoring this boys”.
Mr Wori disclosed that relatives of the suspected gunmen have deserted the village which implies that they were privy to the action before it was taken by their sons.
The OSPAC commander said he was at Ibaa with Divisional Police Officer of Rumuji and Army in the area as at the time of the intervention, called on members of disbanded OSPAC to be very careful of their movement and protect themselves from future re-occurrence.
Before four months ago some ‘repentant Iceland’ cultists had accused OSPAC in Ibaa of killing their members but OSPAC leadership denied the killing of about six ‘repentant’ Iceland cultists.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command SP Nnamdi Omoni did not pick several calls put across to him neither did he return text messages sent to him on enquiry to the incident as at press time.
