The Divisional Police Officer of Nkpolu Police Division, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt, Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Christaina Cyril on Thursday  bagged an award of excellence from a group known as  Port Harcourt finest for saving the life of a Bolt driver, Clement Edet.
Conferring the award on CSP Cyril,the representative of the state Chairman Of PortHarcourt finest Nwagwu Charles said the female DPO went  beyond  Police duty to pay for hospital bill of the survivor who was nearly strangled to death at the campus of Rivers State University.
Mr Nwagwu said the DPO also recovered the vehicle snatched from Mr Edet by the hoodlums.
Mr Nwagwu while commending the female DPO urged other officers to emulate CSP  Cyril.
In her response, CSP Cyril said the award will spur her to do more.
She dedicated the award to God,Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police in Rivers state.
CSP Cyril also commended men and officers under his jurisdiction for their efforts in combating crime.
The Commissioner of Police,CP Eboka Friday represented by SP Nnamdi Omoni said the award is a call for more work.
The Commissioner of Police noted that CSP Christaina Cyril is a hardworking, disciplined and  distinguished Police officer.CP Eboka noted that the command is not surprise at the award bestowed on CSP Cyril due to her professional antecedent.
CP Eboka further said the action of CSP Cyril is a testimony that members of Nigerian Police Force are compassionate .
Meanwhile the victim, Clement Edet told newsmen that God used CSP  Cyril to keep him alive.
Mr Edet recounted how he was strangled and left for death by two men who took him on a ‘drop’ to Rivers State University  but the Female DPO took him to hospital, paid his bills and ensured the recovery of his vehicle after the Chief Security Officer of the institution, Mr Ebere Chukwuma notified the DPO on the incident.
Our correspondent reports that Senior and junior officers of  the Rivers State Police command,Media personnel attended the event which held at Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters, Mile 3 diobu.
