Gunmen suspected to be cultists on Friday afternoon (1,April,2022) killed two persons in a farm road in Obelle Community in Emohua LGA,Rivers State, Revelation Agents learnt.
The killing comes barely two hours after gunmen killed four persons in neigbouring Ibaa community in the same Emohua LGA.Although the acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command,DSP Grace Iringe Koko told Journalists that only two persons were killed in Ibaa.A local Chief and former acting Chairman of Community Development Committe(CDC) in Obelle,Eze Anele Israel in a telephone interview with Revelation Agents said two persons were killed in Obelle Community on Friday by unknown gunmen on their way back from farm.Eze Anele told our reporter that the killing has resulted to panic in the community as some natives are planning to flee the community.He disclosed that the incident has been reported to the Police and the Nigerian Army while efforts are on to apprehend the culprits.A source in Obelle Community gave the name of one of the victim killed as Ibari.Meanwhile the Executive Chairman of Emohua LGA,Dr.Chidi Lylod told journalists that the fighting in Ibaa was between two factions of ‘disbanded’ OSPAC (local vigilance group) for the battle for control of collection of Illegal levy from illegal oil bunkering activities in the Ibaa community.The Emohua Council Boss described the development as shameful.As at press time the acting Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police command, DSP Grace Iringe said “Yes , the cp has deployed six patrol teams to the community”.
