State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID), PortHarcourt has taken over the case of alleged defilement of two year old twins (boy and girl) two boys aged 16 and 19 years.
This follows the transfer of the case from the human rights desk at Police headquarters, Moscow road to SCIID on Wednesday on orders of the Commissioner of Police,CP Eboka Friday.
Charles Edward a lawyer with rights group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign following up the case confirmed the development to our correspondent .
Recall that the two suspects were re-arrested by Operation Puff Ader tactical unit last Monday and transferred to human rights desk at Police headquarters that same day.
Our correspondent reports that SCIID is the Apex Investigation department of the state Police command.
