The Police has re-arrested Robinson Michael an alleged defilement suspect who was said to have masterminded the cell break in Okirika Police Division in February,2022 in which himself and others escaped including three high profile criminals, Revelation Agents learnt.
The suspect who allegedly defiled an underaged girl escaped from the custody of Okirika Police Division a day to when he was to be transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).
The re-arrested suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) shortly after he was re-arrested early this week.
It would be recalled that a complainant, Hezekiah Theophilus had raised alarm in February,2022 that the suspect in a defilement case he reported to Okirika Police Division had escaped alongside other suspected criminals.
The development attracted widespread condemnation from many quarters and the Commissioner of Police then CP Eboka Friday ordered for thorough investigation of the incident and questioning of the officers on duty when the cell break that led to the escape of the suspect occurred.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command,SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the rearrest of the suspect through the effort of Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday.DSP Grace Iringe Koko added that the suspect has been transferred to State CIID PortHarcourt for possible prosecution.
