Two men nicknamed ’50’ and ‘Ejima’ were reported dead in a gun battle between two factions of Deygbam cult groups, BS and G12 Houses at Elechi beach axis of Mile 1 Diobu, PortHarcourt in the wee hours of Tuesday, 24, January,2023.
Sources which pleaded anonymity told Revelation Agents that the gang war which started last Sunday may not be unconnected to battle for territorial control between the BS and G12 houses of suspected Deygbam cult groups over economic viability of the area.
Residents say there was sporadic shooting for atleast one hour and explosives were also heard as the groups engaged themselves early hours of Tuesday.
Our reporter who visited the area reports that windscreen of some vehicles were damaged by the rampaging hoodlums as there was panic among residents and business owners in the area.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command,SP Grace Iringe Koko in her reaction said ” The incident of a rival cult clash was reported and the DPO led his men there no casualty was reported up to date”.
