Relief International Africa, a leading humanitarian and Human Rights organization in Nigeria, commends the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for taking a decisive step in the pursuit of accountability and transparency in governance. The recent decision to revisit the perpetual injunction obtained by the former Governor Odili led administration in Rivers State is a commendable move towards ensuring justice and proper utilization of public funds.

Relief International Africa expresses its support for the EFCC’s efforts to hold public officials accountable for their actions and to address the longstanding issue of missing funds in the Rivers State

Government’s accounts or any other State for that matter. The call for the former governor to account for the alleged missing 100 Billion Naira is a significant development in the fight against corruption and mismanagement of public resources.

This initiative aligns with

Relief International Africa’s commitment to promoting good governance and accountability in all sectors, including government and public administration. The organization believes that such efforts contribute to building trust between the government and the citizens, fostering a conducive environment for sustainable development and humanitarian assistance.

Relief International Africa encourages the EFCC to extend its investigations and focus its searchlight on all past administrations of the state. This comprehensive approach will help unearth any financial discrepancies, ensuring that those responsible for financial misconduct are held accountable, regardless of their political affiliations or the time period in question.

As an organization dedicated to the well-being of communities in need, Relief International Africa recognizes the importance of transparent and responsible governance in fostering socio-economic development. The EFCC’s commitment to revisiting legal impediments and addressing financial irregularities is a positive step in the right direction, and we encourage continued efforts in this regard.

Relief International Africa remains committed to working with governmental and non-governmental partners to promote good governance, accountability, and sustainable development in the region.

N/B- Relief International Africa is a non-profit organization committed to providing emergency relief, rehabilitation, and development assistance to communities affected by conflict and natural disasters.
