20-year-old Hammed Olawale and 23-year-old Japhet Oderinde have been arrested by officers from Igando Division after responding to a distress call that two rival cult groups had gone on rampage,according to a statement by SP Benjamin Hundeyin,Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command on Sunday,28th January,2024.
SP Hundeyin stated that the two suspects were found in possession of a locally fabricated semiautomatic pistol with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition. 26-year-old Abeeb Fagbohun was found shot and promptly taken to hospital while efforts in top gear to arrest fleeing suspects.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer disclosed that officers from Iba Division arrested one Solomon Balogun,male on January 27, 2023 after information was received that three men on a motorcycle were robbing people of their possession.
He said a pistol and live cartridges were recovered from the suspect and investigation is ongoing.
