A man identified as as Michael Chidozie has been arrested and detained by the Police in Rivers State for allegedly beating his thirty -two year old wife and mother of three children,Mrs Ufuoma Chidozie to death wee hours of on Tuesday night 5th,March,2024 in Agip axis of Mile 4,PortHarcourt.
Some friends of Ufuoma Michael allege that Mr Chidozie is in the habit of beating his wife on daily basis without provocation.
Our source disclosed that after Mrs Ufuoma died as a result of injuries she sustained from the alleged physical assault by Mr Chidozie, the suspect fled after calling the brother of the deceased, to come to the house that there is an emergency.
We gathered that when the brother to the deceased came to his sister’s house, he saw the lifeless body of Mrs. Ufuoma, but did not meet the husband at home.
We further gathered the suspect was arrested on Wednesday morning by Police personnel attached to Agip Police Division,Mile 4,PortHarcourt following credible intligence.
The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command confirmed the arrest of Mr Chidozie.
SP Grace Iringe Koko,spokesperson for the Rivers State told our reporter in a telephone conversation that the suspect has been arrested and transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID),PortHarcout for discreet investigation.
A source in the Police conversant with the nature of the alleged crime told revelationagents.com that Autopsy will be carried out on the corpse of the late Ufuoma to ascertain the veracity of allegation against the suspect.
As at present time,the remains of Mrs Ufuoma has been deposited in mortuary .
