The Abia State Police Command has launched a campaign against campus cultism two days after supremacy and territorial control battle between suspected Vikings and Black Axe Cult groups outside campus of Abia State University (ABSU) claimed one life.
A flier which emanated from Public Relations Office of the Command which was posted on the x(former twitter) handle of the Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) Maureen Chinaka,Spokesperson for the State Police Command on Wednesday 13 March,2024 read ‘Say No!! To Cultism On Campus’.
The flier also highlighted consequences of cultism to include threat to peace and security on campus and entire society,death,dismissal from school,health problem from harmful drugs,Bad name to the institution and the society,Bad name to families and fall in academic standards among others.
A 400 level student of the institution was killed two days ago in what appears to be a supremacy and territorial control battle between the rival cult groups .
ASP Chinaka had confirmed the incident adding that investigation is ongoing.
The flier also indicated phone numbers the public can call to report any suspicious cult activity.
