The Abia State Police Command says it has apprehended Police Corporal Obaji Njok attached to Abayi Police Division in the state over shooting of Emmanuel Okocha along Aba- Owerri road.
Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) Maureen Chinaka spokesperson for the Command in a statement on Saturday 20 April 2024 disclosed that the officer has been apprehended and necessary disciplinary procedures initiated.
ASP Chinaka said the officer will face full course of appropriate legal and administrative consequences .The Police Image Maker revealed that the bereaved family and stakeholders will be carried along as the proceedings continues.
The Police statement describes the incident as unfortunate and regrettable while condoling with the bereaved family.
The Police Public Relations Officer added that the Abia State Police Command is committed to upholding professionalism and rule of law
