The Rivers State Police Command in Collaboration with Police Community Relations Committe(PCRC),Rivers and PCRC in collaboration with Safe Guard(trainers),
Platform Petroleum on Tuesday 28th May,2024 trained officers of the command on cardiopulmonary resuscitaton,first aid,fire fighting and riot drill.
In an interview with Journalists, the Commissiomer of Police in Rivers State,CP Olatunji Disu said the training has to do with directive of Inspector General of Police to ensure officers are healthy, health wise and conversant with use of their fire arms.
CP Disu disclosed that the officers were trained practically on fire fighting, riot drill, stripping and assembling of guns in order to get the officers ready for challenges ahead.
CP Disu said “We are going to do it stage by stage.Fifty officers participated in first aid training. Riot drill will trickle to all divisions. They were also trained on how to resusciate unconscious persons and respond to emergency”.
The Rivers Police Boss stated that first aid box and fire extinguishers will be provided at Police stations in the state.
