Mr Igwe expressed worry that Ubima community have no idea of the monies paid to the community as royalties from the oil companies operating in their land unlike other oil bearing communities in the Niger Delta except for the very few that ceased the common wealth of the community for personal gains and to sustain same, employ violence which has consumed many.
Mr Igwe disclosed that, aside lack of social amenities in the community or any evidence of development as a result of the homongous amounts that accrue to the community from oil companies and other economic enterprise in Ubima community, there is self induced internal and external violence resulting to the death of some Ubima indigenes in very tragic but avoidable circumstances often perpetrated by some indigenes.

“I and the Ubima patriotic front are urging all Ubima sons and daughters to stay away from violence and avoid been used as a tool to serve the narrow interest of a few including serial violators of court orders holding unto the traditional stool contrary to the laws of Rivers state.
“While we look forward to the redemption of Ubima from the hands of the few that have captured it,We urge that all grievances should be channelled to the relevant state agencies for redress as UPF is willing to assist in paying the hospital bills of the injured persons in the fracas that occured on June 13th 2024”.
