On Wednesday,December 4th,2024 representatives of Vigilante Group of Nigeria,Bayelsa State chapter paid a courtesy call on the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 16 command, AIG Adebola Hamzat.
The visit was necessitated for the group to familiarize with the AIG and the Management team of the Zone for collaboration and intimate the AIG of their activities.
Gunn Emonena,the Zone 16 Command Public Relations Officer who is also a Superintendent of Police(SP) in a statement disclosed that the group commander in Bayelsa State who also doubles as the Zonal commander ACG Tolumobofa Jonathan expressed gratitude to the AIG and his management team for receiving them and in his remark he briefed the AIG on his techniques in gathering intelligence from primary sources and seeked for support and fostering good relationship.
AIG Adebola in his response thanked and commend the group for their visit. The AIG zone 16 command acknowledged the usefulness of the group and commended them for their intelligence gathering approaches, further assuring them of synergy for productive output in protecting lives and properties within the Zone.
In a related development,Executives and members of South South Community in Bayelsa State also paid a courtesy visit to the AIG in his office.
SP Emonena said the visit is to familiarize with the AIG and the management team of the Zone.
According to SP Emonena,the President General of the group, Hon. Dr. Dokubo Felix who led the delegation comprised of traditional rulers, Youths leaders and Women Bodies, thanked the AIG and seeked to foster stronger ties and collaborative working relationship with the Zone to advance mutual goals, particularly in the areas of peace building, conflict resolution and the well being of the South South indigenes both within and outside the State.
In his response, the AIG expressed appreciation for the visit and encouraged the group for regular interaction and regional integration for peace.
Highlights of the visit was exchange of plague to the group and presentation of Award of Excellence to the AIG, with group photographs.
