The Development and Peace an International Non Governmental Organization(NGO) has indicated its readiness to partner with Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt in the area of Human Rights Education

Genvio Talbot, Programme Officer International of the organization made the assertion during a meeting with members of Civil Rights Council PortHarCourt in Diobu unit 1 Office,PortHarcourt,Rivers state, Nigeria Today May 3,2019

She said “her organization is interested in the activities of Civil Rights Council”

She urged Civil Rights Council to ensure all the members are carried along in all their activities

In his remarks, the Executive Director of a Non Governmental Organization Social Development Integrated Centre popularly known as Social Action, Dr. Isaac Osuoka said “unlike other human rights organizations, Civil Rights Council is strengthened by the units and branches and each of the member has a stake in the organization “

He said “different units determines the kind of advocacy they engage in depending on the challenges they are facing in their respective areas”

In his remarks, the chairman of Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt steering committee, Kpalap Sebastian said “Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt intend setting up expert committee were people can fit in depending on the area of their bias”.

National coordinator of Civil Rights Council, Arochukwu Paul Ogbonna (Esq) said the Civil Rights Council will ensure everybody is carried along by being very open in dealings with people “

Earlier the leader of Diobu unit 1 of Civil Rights Council George Jim Tom explained some of the intervention Civil Rights Council have carried out with particular reference to forceful eviction of residents of waterfront dwellers by Rivers state Government

Other members present include Kelechi Uzoma secretary of Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt, Prince Wiro Public Relations Officer of Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt, Amachree Dennison Diobu unit 2 leader of Civil Rights Council PortHarcourt and Green Isaac National Organizing secretary of Civil Rights Council among others
