A man whose name was given as Kewe Oputu aka 10,10 aged 28 years was shot dead on Thursday night (September 29,2022) at Ikom street, Mile 3 Diobu, PortHarcourt when a suspected senior member of ‘Sailors’ cult group was said to have shot in the air in order to disperse two junior members of the same cult group who were engaged in a serious fight in the area.
A resident of the street who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that the flying bullet caught Mr Oputu who was sitting at the front of the compound where the shooting took place.
Our correspondent who visited the area this morning reports that residents of the compound have deserted the building as Police from Nkpolu Police Divisional headquarters Mile 3 Diobu were sighted at the scene and the corpse of Oputu was evacuated to the mortuary.
When contacted,SP Grace Iringe Koko,Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, told our reporter she will get back to him but was yet to do so as at press time.
