Nigeria- The Edo State Police Command have arrested a thirty -one year old woman Abigail Oluwarotimi for burning a fifteen year old boy,Jude Joseph with with hot iron.
Moses Yamu,Public Relations Officer of the command who is also a Chief Superintendent of Police CSP in a statement on Sunday,12th January 2024 said “on 11/01/2025 at about 1945 hours, the Command received a report that one female,Abigail Oluwarotimi aged 31 years, heated a metal object in fire and used it to inflict burns on her house help by name Jude Joseph Master aged 15 years.
As a result, the victim sustained injuries on his laps and genitals.
“The suspect was promptly arrested. She confessed to the crime and blamed her action on the allegation that the boy molested her children. The victim is currently receiving treatment”.
Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Umoru Ozigi has expressed concern about the development and ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough and discreet investigation.
CP Ozigi warns warns the general public against taking laws into their hands, while emphasizing the importance of allowing the law take its course.
