There are indications that a planned protest by some concerned natives of Ogoni and residents especially   in Bori,Khana Local Government Area where the 13 year old girl allegedly defiled by Police Officer resides has been cancelled.

Natives and residents of the area who spoke to revelationagents.com on condition  of anonymity told our reporter that they were planning massive protest on Monday 22,January,2024 on the alleged defilement of the 13 year old Girl by a  male Police Officer,attached to Bori Area Command but they have collectively decided to put off the protest following the steps taken by the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State,CP Olatunji Disu so far  especially as regards his directive on unbiased investigation and detention of the accused officer.

The native told revelationagents.com that they are pleased with the action of the Rivers CP  and there was no need for protest for now as the CP has displayed leadership and responsiveness.

Recall that Mrs Love, the Aunty of the teenage girl had earlier narrated to Journalists how a two star male officer attached to Bori Area Command allegedly held the minor and defiled her  till day break in his office after after threatening to shoot her,if she raises alarm.

Michael Gbarale Executive Director of Rainbow Watch and Development Centre who has being following up the case had demanded unbiased and thorough investigation with a view to serving justice to all parties in the matter.

The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the arrest of the accused Policeman to Punch Newspaper.

SP Koko said though the accused Police Officer denied committing the crime but investigation has commenced to ascertain what actually happened and if the Officer is found culpable the law will take it course.
