Report says at least occupant of three vehicles have been hijacked along Evekwu -Rumuodogo in Emohua local government axis of the East-West road yesterday night.Our correspondent gathered that the suspected gunmen diverted the passengers to a nearby forest in the area yesterday night shortly after they succeeded in ambushing the vehicles. A member of local vigilante group in the area who confirmed the incident said occupants of a commercial bus fully loaded, a driver of a Siana carrying goods and another private vehicle were kidnapped at a gunpoint within Evekwu-Rumuodogo axis of East West road.Although he did not confirm the actual number of the kidnapped victims . It was learnt that the victims were returning from Port Harcourt when the gunmen ambushed them around 8pm to 9pm last night and matched them into the nearby forest.The vigilante personnel said they managed to trace the foot steps of the kidnappers after the incident occurred could not control due to some circumstances beyond their control.Our correspondent reports that while the Rivers State Police Command is yet to confirm the incident, personal attached to Rumuji division has visited the scene.
