The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State,CP Nwonyi Emeka has issued last warning to Divisional Police Officers of charge of Eleme Junction over persisting robbery attack and other criminal activities.

CP Emeka issued the warning last Thursday (June 8,2023) during a meeting with stakeholders in Rivers East Senatorial district which had in attendance, Chairmen of Omuma,Etche, Ikwerre, PortHarcourt,Obio/Akpor LGAs, Traditional rulers,Youth Leaders, Community Development Chairmen.

The warning followed complaint by LGA Chairman of Obio/Akpor, George Ariolu Esq on the activities of hoodlums around the Oilmill/Eleme Junction .Mr Ariolu disclosed that hoodlums normally attack passersby early morning and in the evening dispossessing them of their property and other valuables.

Responding to the revelation made by the Obio/Akpor LGA Chairman,CP Emeka told the DPOs incharge of the area that it will be the last time he would warn them concerning the insecurity in that area.

The Rivers Police Boss said he had earlier called the attention of the DPOs incharge of that area on activities of hoodlums following call he(CP) received from road users.

The Police Commissioner stated that the DPOs will be queried and removed if there are further complaints on insecurity in that area.

He further directed the Area Commander incharge of that area to synergize  with the DPOs in the Area command to put strategies in place to   effectively tackle crime .

Recall that DPOs incharge of Ahoada and Akinnima Police Divisions in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas respectively were redeployed from the area by the Commissioner of Police,last Thursday.
