One of the landlords of a compound at Ekwulobia Street Mile 3,Diobu PortHarcourt has allegedly butchered a female tenant Comfort Nwagadi and her fiancee Stanley Nwagadi after serially taunting her for dating and keeping a man she reportedly takes care of.
Speaking with our reporter at her hospital bed, Comfort Nwagadi said on Sunday she washed and spread her clothes on the rope and one of the landlords of the compound who is a resident of the compound removed her clothe and there on the ground.She said when she went to pick up the clothe,the landlord started abusing her as he normally does that she is keeping a man she feeds and takes care of.According to Comfort Nwagadi, her fiancee came in and heard the utterance of the landlord popularly called Alabo, and there was exchange of words between the fiancee and the said Alabo.Comfort stated that she and her fiancee left after the exchange of words with the landlord. She said unknown to them that the said Alabo had sharpened a machete and was already waiting for them.
She explained that the moment she walked inside the compound as she came back with her fiancee from where they went to,the landlord rushed her with a machete and started cutting her.Her fiancee who ran to safe her on hearing her scream, was also cut twice on his head and hand before Alabo ran away.
On his part,her fiancee, Stanley Nwagadi told our reporter that he rushed to save his fiancee when she heard her scream when he was giving machete cuts by the said Alabo who is now on the run.
Mr Stanley called for justice on the matter.Our correspondent who visited the intending couple at hospital reports that Comfort has four machete cuts on the head,three at her fingers while the fiancee Stanley has two machete cuts on the head one and the left hand.
Police Officers from Azikiwe Police Division, Ilabouchi Mile 2 Diobu has also visited the intending couple at the hospital.
