The members of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) door to door sensitization moved to Obi/Akpor local Government area in Rivers East senatorial district in continuation of the programme that started last Monday

The members of INEC door to door sensitization on arrival at the LGA paid a courtesy call on the Electoral Officer in charge of the LGA,Mr.Steven Coco Bassey whobcommended the team for their effort and encouraged them to do more

The EO of Obi/Akpor said “INEC as an unbiased and independent electoral commission will ensure credible, transparent, free and fair elections in 2019”

The members of INEC door to door sensitization took their campaign to Mgbuosimini market,Wepey junction,Rumuokoro market,Artillery junction,Rumuola junction among others

The team also attended a seminar organized by INEC at a hotel in Rumuola with the theme “Mitigating violence against women in electoral process”

The members of INEC door to door sensitization in their presentation in the seminar urged security agencies to ensure adequate security in the forth coming elections

Revelation Agents correspondent who monitored the exercise reports that the sensitization will continue next week with more emphasis on popular markets in the three Senatorial district of Rivers state

Earlier Evelyn Nwilene the President of Greater Women and Youth Support Forum,a Non Governmental Organization that collaborated with INEC on the door to door sensitisation said”a violence free election can be achieved if all the stakeholders in electoral process play by the rules”.
