Members of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) door to door sensitization of voters in Rivers state continued with its campaign on the need for violence free elections with a visit to Ultra modern market in Mile 3 Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria
The team led by Evelyn Nwilene met with the executives of the market to intimate them on the purpose of the visit before commencement of the sensitization
The representative of the market chairman Vincent Nnokam charged INEC to ensure a credible, free,fair and transparent election on February 16 and March 2,2019
The members of the INEC door to door sensitization had earlier paid a courtesy call on Mr. Agidiomo Beejay the Electoral Officer (E.O) of PortHarcourt local Government area to inform him of their mission in the LGA
The team also took it sensitization to Ncha market in Eleme local government area, where they visited Mrs Patience Evai the Electoral Officer of INEC in the LGA to inform her of their presence
The members of INEC door to door sensitization of voters were received by executives of Ncha market in Eleme .The market Executives commended INEC for the programme and urged them to be apolitical before, during and after the elections
It will be recalled that a Non Governmental Organization(NGO) Greater Women and Youth Support Forum in collaboration with INEC in Rivers state on January 21st,2019 commenced door to door sensitization of voters on the need for violence free elections in Rivers state in the three Senatorial district
