
President Muhammad Buhari of the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) party defeated his closet rival Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to win the 2019 Presidential elections in Nigeria
The Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) while announcing the result this early morning(February 27th,2019) stated that Buhari pulled 15,191,847 to defeat Alhaji Atiku Abubakur of PDP who scored 11,262,978
The electoral commission added that Muhammad Buhari and His Vice,Prof Yemi Osibanjo will be given certificate of returns by 2:00pm today
Meanwhile the major opposition party PDP had earlier rejected the results of the polls from individual states even when INEC has not declared the final result
The National Chairman of the party had alleged that the elections was rigged in favour of the ruling All Progressive Congress party
There are strong indications that the PDP will be heading to court to challenge the outcome of the elections
With the outcome of the 2019 Presidential elections it means that President Muhammadu will rule for another 4 years having ruled from 2015-2019
