The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control(NAFDAC) in Nigeria says it has increased surveillance in restaurant operators in all the thirty six states in and Federal capital territory Abuja to prevent the dangerous and illegal use of paracetamol in food preparation.
NAFDAC made the disclosure in its verified twitter handle today night.
The agency urged the public to use NAFDAC approved salt to tenderise meat or pressure cooking and other safe method instead of the dangerous and illegal use of paracetamol.
The food and drug agencies in the statement explained that approved NAFDAF paracetamol is mainly used to relieve mild pain and if the pain persists the person is to consult a health professional for proper medical advice
