National Agency for Food Drug Administrative Control(NAFDAC) has sealed three unregistered bakeries and a sachet water factory in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
A statement the Agency on Tuesday 7th May,2020 noted that the facilities are operating in makeshift structures with poor hygiene standards, posed serious health risks to consumers.
NAFDAC revealed that the unregistered bakeries, located in Rmuoparali and Mgbuoba areas, were found to be operating in unsanitary conditions, including the use of a lister generator inside the production room.
Meanwhile the State Coordinator of NAFDAC in Rivers State, Pharm. Onogwu has urged the public to continue providing valuable information to NAFDAC to facilitate the Agency’s efforts to ensure the safety and quality of regulated products.
