Relief International Africa,a human rights organization in Nigeria has alleged that the Niger Delta Development Commission(NDDC) is illegally allotting internship slots to well-placed individauls and politicians without following due process.

Executive Director of Relief International Africa,Mr Green Isaac,in a statement on Sunday,January 19th,2025 titled

‘Relief International Africa Condemns Illegal Allotment of NDDC Internship Slots’  which was made available to Journalists stated that the alleged action blatantly contravenes the initial arrangement to make the opportunities open and accessible to qualified individuals who registered online, as publicly announced by the Managing Director of the NDDC.

“The illegal allocation of these slots undermines the principles of fairness, transparency, and equity, denying deserving youths of the Niger Delta region access to life-changing opportunities. This practice further entrenches inequality and fosters a culture of corruption that contradicts the NDDC’s mandate to serve the interests of the Niger Delta people.

“Relief International Africa calls on the NDDC to immediately halt this charade and ensure that the internship process is conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner. Failure to do so will leave us with no choice but to initiate legal action against the NDDC for derailing its core responsibility to the people of the Niger Delta.

“We urge the NDDC to uphold its integrity and prioritize the welfare of the region’s youth, who represent the future of a sustainable and prosperous Niger Delta. Relief International Africa remains committed to advocating for justice, equity, and good governance in Nigeria” Mr Isaac stated.
