The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM),Abike Dabiri has lamented the rate at which Human traffickers are mercillessly trafficking unsuspecting young Nigerians to Iraq with fake promises of non existent jobs .
Abike Dabiri in a post on her X- handle on Thursday 2nd January,2025 stated that there are thousands of Nigerian girls in dire situations as a result.
She said “We are dealing with a case of a woman killed in suspicious circumstances in Iraq An autopsy has been ordered. @naptipnigeria, I am sure, is looking at this route and ensuring these evil people are nabbed !These evil people need to be stopped and awareness raised Many scary stories ” Dabiri said
The NIDCOM Chairman also disclosed that Eniola Isaac, a 28- year old trafficked Nigerian girl in Iraq, is expected to return to Nigeria January 3rd with the intervention of the officials of the Nigerian mission in Jordan, that oversees Irag.
“NiDCOM hereby warns that unscrupulous agents are now wickedly luring young Nigerian women to Irag with fake and evil promises, most of which portend danger to the mostly unsuspecting victims who get lured into slavery and prostitution when they get to the country” she said
