The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the shooting of Prof(Mrs) C D Toluene the collation officer for Gboko Local Government area of Benue state in Yesterday March 23,2019 Governorship rerun elections
In a statement released by INEC in its official twitter handle @inecnigeria this afternoon,the electoral body explained that the collation officer was on her way to markudi to submit collated results before she was shot by unknown gunmen
INEC in the statement said the commission wishes her speedy recovery,it further revealed that all its Ad-hoc and permanent staff are insured and that the electoral body takes responsibility for the medical bills and other expenses
The statement added that the collation officer is in the hospital and the matter have been reported to the security agencies
