In appreciation of his numerous contributions to the development and management of conflict in Ekpeyeland, HRM Nye Udu Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, Nye Udu Upata III and Regent to the stool of Eze Ekpeye Logbo, has-been investitured as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development, NITAD.
A member of the Institute, the Fellows investiture programme was held at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Lagos today, August 4, 2021.
The Fellowship is an elevation from Member to the highest position, Fellow. Normally, it’s conferred on those who have made remarkable contributions to human capital development in Nigeria. The Upata monarch was a Lead Facilitator before ascending the throne and had contributed immensely in developing human capital for about 20 years. His focus on developing Upata Chiefs, Youth Leaders and eligible people through accelerated training and retraining also counted.
In an official citation, the organisers described the Upata King as “a versatile and articulate” personality who since he ascended the throne, “has brought positive innovations to kingship,” and has contributed extensively to the progress of his people both at home and in the Diaspora.
All these treatises earned the monarch the Fellowship and the accolade of being a serious-minded administrator and an acclaimed leader of thought, man of excellence, who should be celebrated.
Prior to the event, the Upata monarch was at the palace of the Regent to the throne of Olu of Ikeja, to explore possible ways of cooperation between the two kingdoms.
The Ikeja Regent, Prince Adekunle Isiaka Apena while receiving the Nye Udu Upata who was on a royal visit to the palace in Ikeja, said it buttresses the age-long tradition of exchange of visits which he noted, would open new vistas of possibilities.
The royal father assured the Nye Udu Upata of Upata Kingdom of the palace’s support and prayed God grant him a peaceful and successful reign over his people.
Both monarch hope to build great legacies that will surmount challenges, plan to build mutual friendship and strengthen the bond of friendship and for the greater development and welfare of both Kingdoms people and Nigeria at large.
Accompanied by HRH Nye Udu Moses Daniel, Nye Udu Ugboko Upata I, the Nye Udu Upata referred to the Ikeja Regent as his brother, saying that his visit was to promote mutual relationship between the Ikeja Kingdom and the Upata Kingdom for national cohesion.
“I will always be here for a reason, that is unity and for the coexistence of this country. My wish has always been goodwill to Ikeja people and for Nigeria at large.
He prayed for peace and stability of Nigeria.
