The Azikiwe Police division, Ilabouchi,Mile 11 Diobu on Wednesday,11 April,2022 arrested a suspected executive of JVC(Dewell) cult group,Collins aka Tallest at Azikiwe street,Mile 2 Diobu who is said to be on Police watchlist for alleged crime ranging from cultism,robbing of bolt,taxi drivers and club girls’ after rounds of sex without payment .
A combined team of security operatives led by Azikiwe Police division acting on credible Intelligence reportedly by ‘repentant’ Dewell cult ‘elders’ stormed Azikiwe at about 12:45pm on Wednesday and arrested the suspect with three of his liutenants .
We gathered that security operatives intensified search for the suspects after his gang members three weeks ago, in a bid to ensure his escape from security operatives who arrested him for robbery allegation in a brothel popularly known as ’49’ at Ojoto/street Mile 2 diobu,attacked the security operatives with guns and other dangerous weapon which led to his escape.
A security source who spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity disclosed that the suspect modus of operandi is to book taxi or bolt drivers ‘a drop’ for some hours and after the drivers has taken him(suspect) on a ride for hours,he will take the unsuspecting drivers to a dark or secluded area where him and his gang will dispose the driver of his money,handsets and other personal belongings at gunpoint.
The source also disclosed that the suspect visits high profile clubs in PortHarcourt where under the pretence of patronizing female commercial sex workers lurking around the club, agrees on a price with the girls, takes them to secluded area and robs them of their money and personal belongings after rounds of sex without payment.
As at press time the suspect is said to have been transferred from Azikiwe Police division to Octopus Strike Force tactical Police unit for thorough investigation and possible prosecution.
When contacted,the acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, DSP Grace Iringe Koko told our reporter she will get back to us but was yet to revert as at the time of filing this report.
